Ran a stress test on subscriptions last month, maxed out 4 Max accounts and burned through 56.5B tokens just to see how far the plans actually go. Claude Code cost me $400 but delivered $32,310 worth of API value, which works out to 81x cheaper than paying per token. Codex was $400 for $17,609 of API, so 44x cheaper. Combined, that’s $800 in and $49,919 out, a $49,119 subscription subsidy. In effective pricing, both of these are even cheaper than Deepseek v4 Pro. They are insanely generous. I am impressed. Do they even make money?
the flex wasnt the point, the point is how lopsided the pricing is. chatgpt plus is a different product, not comparable tbh
