The Avengers Helicarrier simply cannot fly, scientifically speaking. The core issue is the lift-to-weight ratio since it functions as a gigantic flying aircraft carrier. You can spot the Avengers 'A' logo on the deck and a '64 S.H.I.E.L.D.' marking on the side, with the Washington Monument visible in the background.
