The Professional Women's Hockey League has added a new franchise in San Jose, California. This marks the fourth expansion team for the league, which will grow to 12 clubs by the 2026-27 season. The San Jose squad will share the market with the NHL's Sharks and their minor league affiliate, the Barracuda.
