In 1949, you could buy a radio built into a pith helmet for $7.95. Called the “Man-from-Mars Radio Hat,” it had two vacuum tubes, a loop antenna, and a battery pack, picking up stations within a 20-mile (32 km) radius. A fascinating piece of early wearable tech.
