Canada's history at the FIFA World Cup is a long and sparse one. They didn't participate (DNP) in the first five tournaments from 1930 through 1954, failed to qualify (DNQ) in 1958, skipped 1962, missed 1966, then failed to qualify again in 1970, 1974, and 1978. Their first and only appearance came in 1986, where they finished 24th.
