Kevin Feige didn’t think anyone saw ENDGAME’s opening weekend record falling, not after COVID and the long theatrical slump. He walked through the milestones, Sam Raimi’s SPIDER-MAN was the first to crack $100M, SPIDER-MAN 3 hit $150M, the first AVENGERS reached $200M, and ENDGAME took $300M. Once the bar moved, it could move again, but the last five or six years made that feel unlikely. Then the 38th MCU movie, SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY, beat it this past weekend, and the Marvel Studios president couldn’t be happier about it.
