Danube River record low Budapest
The Danube in Budapest just hit its lowest level in over 200 years of record-keeping. That sandbar under the Margaret Bridge is normally under two to three times a person’s height of water. About 700 miles downstream, the drop exposed woolly mammoth bones, a tusk, jawbone, and femur. In Serbia, a couple hundred German naval vessels have surfaced; the Nazis scuttled them in 1944 as the Soviet Red Army advanced. #Climate
