Darby Allin admits he felt nothing the moment he became AEW World Champion since his body was so depleted and beat into the ground that it took everything just to reach that point leaving him feeling numb afterwards. It only clicked once he got back to the locker room and started to decompress when he realized he climbed all the way to the top of AEW without having to compromise who he is at all and that realization meant everything to him because he believes there is no point in becoming a world champion if you are just an industry plant doing something not from the soul or pure. He questions what the point is if they tell you what to do every step along the way and then just put a belt on you. The fact that he managed to do it in AEW without compromising anything was everything to him making that night incredible.
