    Europe walking cycling stats

    Eurostat and the European Health Interview Survey (EHIS) pulled data on how many people across Europe walk or cycle for at least 30 minutes every day, and the results show a massive gap between the top performers and everyone else. The Netherlands leads by a wide margin with 44.0% of its population hitting that daily threshold, while Slovakia sits in second place with 25.4% and Denmark follows closely behind at 25.3%. Finland rounds out the top four with 22.4%, followed by Austria at 20.5%, then Germany and Slovenia tied at 20.4% each. Sweden comes in next with 20.1%, Hungary right after at 20.0%, Czechia at 19.0%, Serbia at 18.5%, and Poland at 18.3%. Belgium records 17.0%, Estonia is at 15.8%, Latvia shows 13.7%, and Croatia sits at 13.6%. Lithuania drops to 11.7%, Norway is at 10.8%, Luxembourg has 9.1%, France recorded 9.0%, and Bulgaria finishes the main group at 8.8%. Greece comes in at 8.7%, Romania at 8.5%, Ireland at 8.4%, Albania at 8.0%, Spain drops further to 5.5%, and Iceland lands at 5.3%. Türkiye is down to 3.4%, Portugal shows just 2.8%, Malta recorded 2.3%, and Cyprus ends up with a tiny 0.1% share. #Health
