Volcano selfie ash plume danger

The only sensible move in that footage was the dog bolting before anyone else. People are still hiking active volcanoes just to film clips, ignoring what actually happens when an ash plume forms. That cloud is hot rock and gas blasting from a crater, capable of collapsing without warning and racing down the slope faster than any human can run. Guided tours continue to market views of these eruptions despite the risk. Multiple groups have been caught engaging in this behavior within the current year, following a fatal eruption at Indonesia's Mount Dukono in May.
