How do you guys feel like you tapped into that balance of the emotional core? The more personal of a story you tell, the more universal it becomes. The more personal details that there are in each person's journey, the more those details become in audiences' way in, where they are in the story. And every battle scene and every kind of fight scene comes from that very, very personal place. There's nothing extraneous. It's all related to that core need that these people are marching for, which is the dignity of their own lives. It was something that Paul shared with me that really broke something in me and awakened that kind of devastation. I always find that any performance really benefits from just stories shared and heard to be able to channel those emotions.
