Cartunez

Ken Carson dropped Cartunez on July 10, 2026, through Opium and Interscope Records. This project arrived exactly one week after his fifth studio album Xperiment, creating a tight narrative where the new release acts as a high-energy counterpoint to the sprawling nature of its predecessor. While some sources labeled it a deluxe companion piece, the official tracklist stands as a distinct seven-track EP with no guest features.

The production relies heavily on Opium affiliates Star Boy, Lucian, and Jonah Abraham to maintain a cohesive sonic identity. Mixing duties fell to Alex Tumay while Mike Bozzi handled mastering, resulting in an aggressive, glitch-heavy aesthetic defined by distorted 808s and fractured melodies. Lyrically, the record explores themes of excess, paranoia, and digital-age alienation wrapped in what critics described as cartoonish chaos.

Commercially, the EP debuted at number 12 on the US Billboard 200 with 42,000 album-equivalent units in its first week. It also secured spots at number 3 on the Top Rap Albums chart and number 4 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. International performance saw peaks at number 15 in Canada and number 22 in the United Kingdom. By September 2026, global sales had reached an estimated 120,000 units without receiving an RIAA certification. [编辑]
