Danceteria

Madonna released her fifteenth studio album, Danceteria, on July 3, 2026, via Warner Records. The project serves as a direct homage to the downtown New York City nightlife of the early 1980s, specifically named after the legendary nightclub where she performed and partied during her rise to fame. The record blends disco, electroclash, and French house into a cohesive dance-floor experience, marking a sonic return to her roots while incorporating modern production techniques.

The standard edition contains twelve tracks co-written and co-produced by Madonna alongside Andrew Watt, Cirkut, and Stuart Price. This team crafted a sound that balances nostalgic energy with contemporary polish. The title track interpolates Lou Reed's classic "Walk on the Wild Side," serving as a sly nod to the city's underground culture. A significant addition to the album's legacy occurred later in its lifecycle when a remix titled "Danceteria (Afterhours)" featuring Charli XCX was released.

Critics responded positively to the album, awarding it a Metacritic score of 78. Reviews praised the record's cohesive production and nostalgic energy, though some critics noted that the lyrics were occasionally simple. The album won the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album in 2027 and received a nomination for Album of the Year. It has sold over 5 million copies worldwide and earned a 2x Platinum certification from the RIAA. [编辑]
