Dave Grohl

他组建了一支完整的乐队，第二张专辑《The Colour and the Shape》（1997年）收录了热门歌曲“Everlong”和“My Hero”。乐队凭借《There Is Nothing Left to Lose》（1999年）赢得了他们的第一座格莱美奖。在接下来的二十年里，Foo Fighters乐队发行了一系列成功的专辑，包括《One by One》（2002年）、《In Your Honor》（2005年）和《Wasting Light》（2011年），后者赢得了五项格莱美奖。 在Taylor Hawkins于2022年去世后，Foo Fighters乐队发行了《But Here We Are》（2023年），并与新鼓手Josh Freese继续巡演。

Dave Grohl has never cultivated a singular, codified moniker for his followers. Unlike artists with branded tribes like the BeyHive or Swifties, fans of Nirvana and Foo Fighters simply identify by genre or band name. This lack of a formal title reflects a fanbase that spans generations, from grunge enthusiasts who witnessed the early 1990s explosion to younger listeners discovering his work through modern rock media. The community is deeply organized across platforms like Reddit and Facebook, where drumming communities dissect his thunderous style on Nevermind. A recurring inside joke among fans mocks the tendency to introduce him solely as "the guy from Nirvana," despite his massive success as a frontman. Fan lore thrives on stories of his generosity, such as the widely retold account of him filling in for a sick drummer with only one day's notice, reinforcing his reputation as the nicest man in rock. While large-scale coordinated campaigns are rare, the fanbase actively celebrates his return to performing "forbidden" songs like Smells Like Teen Spirit, a journey he described as emotionally fraught for years after Kurt Cobain's death. These shared rituals create a bond that transcends simple fandom. His standing in global culture remains immense, anchored by specific industry dominance. Dave Grohl is currently the 9th most famous person in Metal according to the iFANN Global Fame Rankings, a position holding steady through August 2026.[编辑]

Dave Grohl is left-handed but plays a right-handed drum kit. He once performed a 4-hour-30-minute set with Foo Fighters at the 2009 Reading Festival, setting a Guinness World Record. A tattoo of the Nirvana smiley face sits on his left forearm, and he named his daughter Violet after a Prince song. His musical contributions extend beyond his own bands; he played drums for Nine Inch Nails, The Prodigy, and Paul McCartney. Grohl's first concert was seeing The Beatles' film Help! at age 4, an experience that sparked his musical career. Beyond these facts, legends surround his resilience. After Kurt Cobain's death, Grohl admitted he was afraid to play the opening riff of Smells Like Teen Spirit for years due to the emotional weight. Another powerful story involves a chance encounter with a hitchhiker on an Irish country road during his darkest period, a moment he credits with changing his mind about disappearing. Fans also cherish the tale of how he joined Nirvana, completing the classic lineup that turned an underground act into a global phenomenon.[编辑]

Queens of the Stone Age的专辑『Songs for the Deaf』和Tenacious D的专辑『Tenacious D』打鼓。 Queens of the Stone Age的Josh Homme组建了超级乐队Them Crooked Vultures。
