David Moyes

David Moyes is a name that resonates deeply in the football world, but in the realm of global fame, he is not among the ranked elite. According to the iFANN Global Fame Engine, as of August 2026, he is evaluated but does not hold a placement in the published rankings, whether that be the Global Top 1,000 or any Top-100 scope list. This means that while he is a respected figure in football, his fame does not translate into the kind of widespread recognition that pop culture icons or global superstars enjoy.

His fanbase, though passionate, has no formal name. There is no 'Moyes Army' or 'Moyesians' officially recognized; instead, his supporters are simply Evertonians, Hammers, or football fans who appreciate his pragmatic, no-nonsense approach. His connection with Everton fans is particularly strong, given his two spells at the club, and West Ham fans hold him dear for delivering their first major trophy in decades. The fan culture around Moyes is traditional, terrace chants, banners, and matchday rituals, rather than the digital fan projects seen in other fandoms.

In the pantheon of football managers, Moyes is a legend in his own right, but his fame is niche, confined to the sport. He is not a global household name, but for those who follow the game, he is a figure of respect and, at times, debate.[编辑]

David Moyes got his UEFA coaching badges at 22 while still playing, an early move that shaped his career. He was the first Manchester United manager to win a trophy in his debut season with the 2013 Community Shield. He also led Real Sociedad to their first win over Barcelona in 22 years in 2015 and has saved multiple clubs from relegation in their first seasons under him.

One of the most iconic moments of his career is the 2023 Europa Conference League triumph with West Ham United. After a season of criticism, he led the Hammers to their first major trophy in 43 years, with a 2-1 victory over Fiorentina in Prague. The scenes of celebration, with Moyes carried by his players, are still retold by fans as a fairy-tale ending.

Another legendary chapter is the 'Chosen One' era at Manchester United. Handed a banner referencing Sir Alex Ferguson, Moyes' tenure became a cautionary tale of the impossible task of succeeding a legend. The banner, initially a show of support, became a symbol of hubris after his dismissal less than a year later.[编辑]

iFANN currently estimates David Moyes' net worth at $30 million, derived primarily from his long and successful career as a football manager in the Premier League and other top leagues. His annual salary as Everton manager is reported at £12.5 million (approximately $15.8 million), which forms the bulk of his income. Over his career, Moyes has managed clubs including Everton, Manchester United, Real Sociedad, Sunderland, and West Ham United, earning substantial salaries and bonuses. He also benefits from a role on the board of trustees of the League Managers Association, which may provide additional compensation. Real estate holdings, including the sale of a seven-bedroom mansion, contribute to his wealth. Endorsement income is minimal for managers, so his fortune is almost entirely from managerial contracts and prudent financial management.[编辑]
