Everton Ribeiro

Everton Ribeiro's fanbase is vast and passionate, but it has never coalesced under a single, formal name. Instead, his supporters rally under the banners of the clubs he has graced, most notably Flamengo's mighty 'Nação Rubro-Negra' and, more recently, Bahia's faithful. With around 5 million Instagram followers, his personal connection with fans is strong, yet there are no documented fan campaigns, rituals, or inside jokes unique to him. His most profound fan-facing moment came in October 2025, when he publicly revealed his thyroid cancer diagnosis and subsequent surgery, allowing supporters a deeply personal glimpse into his life. His return to the pitch for Bahia in 2026 has only deepened the admiration.

In the eyes of iFANN's Global Fame Engine, Ribeiro's fame is substantial but currently unranked; he does not hold a placement in the published rankings, whether global or scope-specific. This reflects a career that, while decorated domestically, has not translated into the kind of worldwide recognition that propels players into the top echelons of fame rankings. Nevertheless, his status in Brazilian football remains iconic, and his story, from Cruzeiro's golden years to Flamengo's triumphs and his courageous health battle, continues to resonate with fans across the globe.[编辑]

Ribeiro has worn the number 7 jersey at every club since Cruzeiro, making it his trademark. He is one of only a few players to win the Bola de Ouro in consecutive years, a list that includes Zico and Ronaldinho Gaúcho. Despite interest from European clubs like Benfica and Inter Milan, he never played in Europe. He was rejected by São Paulo's youth academy at age 14 before joining Corinthians. His first professional goal came for Coritiba in 2012 against Atlético Paranaense. He has scored 14 free-kick goals in his career, known as a set-piece specialist.

One of the most retold stories from his career is the 2015 transfer saga, when he turned down both Manchester United and AC Milan to join Al Ahli of the UAE, a decision that still sparks debate among fans. More recently, his courageous public battle with thyroid cancer in 2025, followed by his return to playing for Bahia, has become a defining chapter in his legacy, showcasing his resilience and dedication to the sport.[编辑]
