组建故事
Aerosmith, an iconic American rock band, first came together in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1970. The genesis of the group centered around the burgeoning musical partnership of singer Steven Tyler and guitarist Joe Perry, a duo whose "swaggering" stage presence and songwriting contributions would later earn them the moniker "The Toxic Twins." Prior to Aerosmith, Tyler, Perry, and bassist Tom Hamilton had already been collaborating in a local ensemble known as the Jam Band. Seeking to expand their sound and solidify their lineup, they actively recruited drummer Joey Kramer. It was Kramer who serendipitously provided the band's distinctive name, "Aerosmith," a word he had conceived and jotted down in his notebooks years earlier as a teenager. The nascent group was further joined by guitarist Ray Tabano.
The band's definitive formation occurred in 1971 when Ray Tabano was replaced by Brad Whitford. This final addition completed the classic five-piece lineup, featuring Tyler, Perry, Hamilton, Kramer, and Whitford, a configuration that would become renowned for its ability to transform blues-based hard rock into a stadium-sized spectacle. With their lineup established and under the guidance of Aerosmith Management, the band began to hone their craft and seek wider recognition. Their efforts soon led to a pivotal showcase event at Max's Kansas City in New York, a performance that ultimately secured them a recording contract with Columbia Records in 1972.
The band officially debuted on January 5, 1973, with the release of their self-titled album, Aerosmith. The album introduced listeners to their energetic sound and featured the ballad "Dream On" as a key track. While the album laid the groundwork for their career, "Dream On" truly became a cornerstone of their early breakthrough upon its re-release in 1976, soaring to number six on the Billboard Hot 100. This marked their first major commercial success and cemented Aerosmith's place in the burgeoning rock scene, setting the stage for their legendary career.

音乐风格
Aerosmith's sound is rooted in blues-based hard rock, drawing heavily from The Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin. Their 1970s albums featured riff-driven rock anthems with a swaggering, soulful edge. After their 1980s comeback, they adopted a more polished, pop-friendly hard rock and glam metal sound, emphasizing power ballads. The 1986 collaboration with Run-DMC on Walk This Way fused rock with hip-hop, breaking genre barriers. Later albums incorporated elements of blues and country, but their core remained loud, bluesy rock built around Tyler's distinctive vocals and Perry's guitar riffs.

文化影响
Aerosmith bridged the gap between 1970s hard rock and 1980s glam metal, influencing bands like Guns N' Roses, Mötley Crüe, and Metallica. Their 1986 collaboration with Run-DMC on Walk This Way broke racial and genre barriers, helping to popularize rap-rock and introduce hip-hop to mainstream rock audiences. Steven Tyler's flamboyant, scarf-adorned style influenced 1980s glam fashion, and Joe Perry's leather-and-denim look became a template for rock guitarists. The band's music has been featured in numerous films, most notably Armageddon (1998), for which I Don't Want to Miss a Thing was the theme song. In 2011, the band was awarded the Key to the City of Boston and named Honorary Citizens of Boston for their contributions to the city's cultural heritage.

趣闻
The band's name was suggested by drummer Joey Kramer, who said he used to write 'Aerosmith' in his notebooks as a kid. Steven Tyler and Joe Perry were both born in the same hospital (Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, Massachusetts) two years apart. The iconic guitar riff for Walk This Way was inspired by a line from the 1975 film Young Frankenstein. Aerosmith is the only American rock band to have a number one single on the Billboard Hot 100 in the 1970s ('Dream On'), 1980s ('Walk This Way' with Run-DMC), and 1990s ('I Don't Want to Miss a Thing').
