Kuroko's Basketball

Tetsuya Kuroko was the invisible sixth man of the Generation of Miracles, a middle school team with five superstar players who dominated Japanese basketball. Now at Seirin High, Kuroko teams up with Taiga Kagami, a talented player just back from America. Together they aim to take down Kuroko's former teammates, each now the star of a rival high school. The series follows their journey through intense tournament matches, personal growth, and the evolving bonds of friendship and rivalry.

Written and illustrated by Tadatoshi Fujimaki, the manga ran in Weekly Shōnen Jump from December 2008 to September 2014, spanning 275 chapters collected in 30 volumes. Fujimaki drew on his own high school basketball experience to create a world where individual brilliance meets the power of teamwork. The series balances fast-paced game sequences with character-driven drama, making basketball accessible even to readers who don't know the sport.

By November 2020, the series had over 31 million copies in circulation worldwide. It won the 2012 Shogakukan Manga Award in the shōnen category and spawned a 75-episode anime, a film, stage plays, video games, and light novels.
