Matty Healy

乐队的第二张专辑《I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful yet So Unaware of It》（2016年）扩大了他们的全球影响力，其中《The Sound》成为电台常客。

The 1975's audience operates without a formal moniker, distinguishing itself through highly organized digital activism rather than a branded collective name. Unlike fanbases with designated titles, these followers identify simply as fans of the band, yet they drive chart performance through coordinated streaming parties and social media campaigns that push tracks like "Somebody Else" into viral trends. Their engagement mirrors the band's own political stances on climate change and LGBTQ+ rights, creating a generational bond rooted in shared history since the group formed at Wilmslow High School. This community navigates a complex relationship with Matty Healy, balancing deep loyalty against his erratic public behavior and controversial statements. The cultural mythology surrounding him includes verified incidents like the 2024 Good Vibes Festival protest where he kissed bandmate Ross MacDonald to challenge anti-LGBTQ laws, an act that sparked global headlines and legal battles. Another enduring legend involves his 2026 bachelor party in Malibu, where he performed hits with a tribute band called "The 9075" prior to his marriage to Gabbriette Bechtel, blurring the lines between private eccentricity and public persona. While the fanbase lacks an official name, their influence is undeniable in sustaining the band's longevity. Regarding his standing in the wider world, iFANN has evaluated Matty Healy but currently does not place him in any published ranking lists. He holds no position within the Global Top 1,000 or any specific scope list at this time.[编辑]

Matty Healy's stage name Truman Black draws from the film The Truman Show and his mother's maiden name. He bears a tattoo of the album cover for Talking Heads' Remain in Light, one of his favorite records, and once performed a full gig wearing a latex bodysuit. An outspoken advocate for LGBTQ rights, he publicly criticized Malaysian government laws during a 2023 concert. He suffers from a phobia of pigeons and holds a Guinness World Record for the most songs on the UK Top 40 in a single year from one album release in 2016. Beyond these facts, legends have grown around his provocative actions, such as the 2024 festival incident where kissing Ross MacDonald led to a $2.4 million lawsuit and police intervention. Fans also retell stories of his 2026 bachelor party in Malibu, where he hired a tribute band named "The 9075" to perform his hits before marrying Gabbriette Bechtel. These moments highlight a career defined by high-profile controversies and surreal personal rituals that keep the narrative constantly evolving.[编辑]
