Skepta

这张专辑收录了 anthem 单曲《That's Not Me》和《Shutdown》，重振了 grime 乐坛并将其推向全球观众。

Skepta's journey from the Tottenham underground to global recognition is a story that fans tell with a mix of pride and disbelief. There is no official fandom name for his followers; they are simply part of the Boy Better Know movement, or as he and his crew often call themselves, "The Mandem." This collective identity is central to everything. Fans show their loyalty not through hashtags or billboards, but by showing up to BBK events, streaming the independent releases, and embracing the DIY ethos that Skepta has championed since the early days. The fanbase is fiercely protective of the crew's legacy, and that loyalty was never more evident than during the 2025 reunion at Drake's Wireless Festival, where BBK performed together for the first time in eight years under the alias "The Mandem." It was a moment that felt like a victory lap for a culture that had finally been recognized on its own terms.

In the broader landscape of fame, Skepta's status is notable even without a specific numeric ranking. As of August 2026, iFANN's Global Fame Engine has evaluated him, but he does not currently hold a placement in the published rankings, whether that's the Global Top 1,000 or any Top-100 scope list. This is a neutral statement of fact, not a slight on his influence. His fame is undeniable, but it manifests in ways that don't always align with traditional metrics. He's a cultural icon, a pioneer, and a legend to his fans, but the numbers have yet to catch up with the impact.[编辑]

Skepta's stage name comes from his skepticism of the music industry, a sentiment that led him to remain independent and turn down a multi-million pound record deal. He's a qualified pilot and owns a small aircraft, a hobby that reflects his love for freedom and control. His father named him after Nigerian musician Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey, whose real name is Joseph Adenuga. Skepta produced his entire Mercury Prize-winning album Konnichiwa himself, one of the few artists to do so. He holds a black belt in karate, and his deep interest in Japanese culture influenced the album's title and aesthetic. He also directed the music video for "Shutdown" himself, showcasing his multifaceted talent.

One of the most legendary moments in Skepta's career came on February 24, 2016, when Drake announced he had signed to Boy Better Know via Instagram. The move was unprecedented, a global superstar joining an underground London grime collective, and it signaled that grime had truly broken through to the mainstream. Fans still tell the story of how Skepta and his crew managed to bridge the gap between UK underground and international hip-hop without losing their edge. Another iconic moment occurred in 2025 when BBK reunited for the first time in eight years to headline Drake's Wireless Festival, performing as "The Mandem." The performance was a celebration of their 20th anniversary, and it was accompanied by a collaboration with streetwear brand Corteiz, cementing their influence beyond music. These moments are the pillars of BBK's mythology, stories that fans will retell for generations.[编辑]

他在《Lord of the Mics 2》上与Devilman的传奇对决至今仍是经典。

As of 2026, iFANN currently estimates Skepta's net worth at $15 million. This figure comes from a diverse portfolio of income streams. Music remains the foundation: album sales, streaming royalties, and publishing rights from projects like Konnichiwa, Ignorance Is Bliss, and Knife & Fork contribute significantly. Touring and festival performances add substantial revenue, with per-show fees estimated between £100,000 and £200,000 for major festivals. His fashion ventures are equally lucrative, including his clothing line Mains and collaborations with Nike on sneakers like the Skepta x Nike Air Max 97 and Skepta x Nike Shox. Endorsement deals with Nike and Beats by Dre further pad his income. He also earns from production credits for other artists, his short film Tribal Mark, and real estate investments in London. Since his Mercury Prize win in 2016, Skepta's net worth has grown steadily, and his independent approach has allowed him to retain more profits than he would have with a major label.[编辑]
