Aoki 的突破来自于 2008 年的单曲《I'm in the House》以及 2010 年混音 Kid Cudi 的《Pursuit of Happiness》的病毒式成功。 他 2016 年与 Louis Tomlinson 合作的单曲《Just Hold On》在 Billboard Hot 100 上首次亮相即排名第 52。2019 年，他出版了回忆录《Blue: The Color of Noise》。

Steve Aoki holds a black belt in karate and is the son of Rocky Aoki, an Olympic wrestler who competed in the 1964 Tokyo Games. He has maintained a vegan diet since 2014 and possesses a U.S. patent for a sound-activated cake-throwing device. In a feat recognized by Guinness World Records, he once crowd-surfed ten times in a single night. Aoki made a cameo appearance as a DJ in the film F9 of the Fast & Furious franchise.

While the artist is frequently associated with cake-throwing rituals, recent documentation highlights specific legendary moments that have entered the folklore of his performances. A widely retold story from his Bonnaroo appearance describes him launching a cake cannon directly into the front row, an act that became a signature element of his show rather than a spontaneous accident. Another anecdote, often cited by fans attending his Las Vegas residencies, involves him using an inflatable raft to crowd-surf while simultaneously managing a setlist, blurring the line between performer and participant in a manner that has become iconic to the Dim Mak experience.[编辑]
