V (Kim Taehyung) stands as the 205th most famous person in the world, a position he has held steady through consistent global attention. His influence extends deeply within his home region, where he ranks as the 17th most famous person in South Korea and the 2nd most famous person from the country overall. In the broader East Asian landscape, he holds the 33rd spot for fame, while dominating his specific genre as the 2nd most famous person in K-Pop. These placements reflect a career that bridges massive commercial success with enduring cultural resonance across media coverage and consumption signals worldwide.

The collective fanbase supporting V is officially known as ARMY, a unified group dedicated to protecting the members of BTS. Within this large community, V has cultivated a distinct sub-culture often called 'V-ARMY,' characterized by intense organizational skills and deep devotion. Fans regularly mobilize for annual celebrations on December 30, flooding social media with #HappyBirthdayV and coordinating thousands of digital and physical campaigns globally. A core ritual involves V's nickname for his fans, 'Bunny' or *Toji*, which originated from a live broadcast where he compared their ears to rabbit ears; fans now frequently replicate this gesture by holding their hands to their heads. This unique bond was further highlighted in May 2026 when V praised Stanford's pizza in California, triggering an immediate surge in traffic to the establishment known as the 'Stanford Pizza' incident. The fandom's ability to drive metrics is evident in the massive streaming push for his solo debut album, *Layover*, which secured high chart positions independently.[编辑]

V created the phrase 'I purple you' on November 13, 2016, during a fan meeting in Seoul, symbolizing a promise to love and trust forever. He released 'Winter Bear' as a self-composed English track inspired by the film *About Time*. Before his official debut, he appeared anonymously in pre-debut content and was only revealed as a member 11 days prior. He is fluent in Korean with basic knowledge of English and Japanese, and his MBTI personality type is INFP-T.

Legends surrounding V include a widely retold story about his discovery at a dance academy in Daegu, where a photo of him dancing in worn clothes led to his recruitment. Another verified ritual stems from a live broadcast where he pointed out his long ears, solidifying the 'V-Bunny' connection fans reference today. In May 2026, he wore a vintage Bruce Springsteen 'Born in the USA' t-shirt during a performance, sparking viral discussions about his eclectic fashion sense. Recent health disclosures in August 2026 revealed he had lost 70% of his hearing in his right ear after struggling for two and a half years, transforming him into a symbol of resilience. Fans also celebrate his gaming prowess, noting his achievement of reaching 'Master' rank in *League of Legends* in August 2026, proving his strategic mind beyond music.[编辑]

iFANN currently estimates V's net worth at approximately $50 million as of 2026. This substantial figure is built upon his decade-long tenure with BTS, recognized as one of the best-selling music groups in history. Revenue streams encompass album sales, world tours, merchandise, and streaming royalties. As a key member of BTS, V earns from concert tours that gross hundreds of millions, alongside brand endorsements for global companies like Hyundai, Samsung, and Louis Vuitton, plus profit sharing within the group. His solo activities have also contributed significantly, particularly with the mini-album *Layover*, which sold over 2 million copies in its first week to generate substantial income. Additional earnings stem from his acting role in *Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth* and music publishing royalties for his self-composed works. Known for prudent financial management, he has invested in real estate, including a luxury apartment in Seoul's Hannam-dong district that has appreciated in value. While exact figures remain private, his financial portfolio continues to grow as BTS activities resume and his solo brand strengthens.[编辑]
