Chad Channing

他还在 The Stinkey Puffs 和 Before Cars 中演奏。

Chad Channing's global fame is modest and largely derived from his association with Nirvana. As of August 2026, iFANN's Global Fame Engine has evaluated Channing but he does not currently hold a placement in the published rankings, meaning he is not among the Global Top 1,000 or any Top-100 scope list. This unranked status reflects his relatively low profile compared to his former bandmates, yet he retains a niche but dedicated following.

Channing's fanbase, while not formally named, is a passionate subset of the broader Nirvana fandom. These fans often advocate for greater recognition of his contributions, as seen in online discussions where some argue his omission from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction is unjust. The community engages in digital advocacy, correcting historical narratives and preserving his legacy through fan-generated content. There are no documented major fan campaigns or formal rituals, but inside jokes, such as referring to him as 'the Pete Best of Nirvana,' are common within Nirvana fan circles.[编辑]

Chad Channing holds a licensed pilot's license, a fact that surprises many fans. He once declined an offer to rejoin Nirvana in 1993 when Dave Grohl briefly considered leaving. His drumming appears on the first-ever Nirvana music video, which was never officially released but exists as a fan bootleg. His favorite food is sushi, and he has a cat named Miso. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing and hiking in the Pacific Northwest.

A widely retold legend is that Channing is the 'Pete Best of Nirvana,' the drummer who left just before the band's breakthrough. However, his drumming from the Smart Studios sessions was kept on the final version of 'In Bloom' on Nevermind because Kurt Cobain insisted, a point of pride for his fans. He has also repeatedly stated he has 'no regrets' about leaving, noting he became a Nirvana fan only after his departure.[编辑]

As of 2026, iFANN estimates Chad Channing's net worth at $1 million. His primary income source is royalties from Nirvana's early catalog, including Bleach and the track 'Polly' on Nevermind. He also earns from Bleach-era merchandise, occasional performances, and session work. He has no known real estate holdings or business ventures. His net worth has remained relatively stable over the years, as he has not pursued high-profile commercial opportunities.[编辑]
